Turmeric - Intense Yellow Rhizome
With essential oils & curcumin
The herbaceous, perennial turmeric plant is a member of the ginger family. It is native to southern Asia and is cultivated in the tropics. The plant can grow up to 1 m high. The flowering period is around August. When the plant has finished flowering, the wonderful root can be harvested. This has a hot and spicy aroma and intense yellow colour. Turmeric was considered sacred in ancient India and continues to be so even today. The precious rhizome is used almost every day in Ayurvedic cuisine and is also often used in natural remedies.
